The Cancer Institute of New Mexico (CINM) is the state's newest and most advanced cancer care facility. Opening in mid-2003, the Cancer Institute of New Mexico is the result of two groups of physicians - New Mexico Cancer Care Associates and Radiation Oncology Associates - joining forces to offer patients the best in cancer screening, cancer treatment and compassionate care. This caregiver support program is designed to help organize a system that alleviates some of the stressors often experienced when caring for a loved one. Participants of the Southwestern College Grief Counseling Program assist families, friends and neighbors in organizing volunteer care-sharing groups. As a community outreach program to support New MexicoÕs caregivers, Caring Can Be Shared also offers free educational workshops and staff inservices to raise community awareness of the care-sharing system as a valuable resource. Our Family Bag Program distributes an average of 1,100 bags of groceries to hungry families each week. Through our Healthy Snacks for Children Program, we provide fresh milk and healthy snacks to more than 400 children each month.
